Andrii Murza, Violinista
One of the most prominent representatives of Ukrainian violinists of his generation, who firmly establishing himself as a compelling and versatile interpreter. Andrii has performed in numerous important festivals including Lucern Festival, Wiener Festwochen, Beethovenfest Bonn, Young Euro Classic (Berlin), Un week-end a l`est (Paris), MDR Musik Sommer (Leipzig), Santander International Festival, Kunstfest Weimar, Heidelberg International Festival, LvivMozArt and Kaunas Festival.
He had the honor of being the first Eastern European violinist to perform on the original violin of W. A. Mozart made by Pietro Antonio Dalla Costa in 1764, as part of a documentary concert project “Lviv Salzburg: Mozart for Solidarity” presented by LvivMozArt Festival and Mozarteum Foundation.
Andrii is regularly invited to perform recitals and chamber music program in Switzerland, France, Germany, Ukraine, China, Spain at venues such as Konzerthaus Berlin, Yehudi Menuhin Forum, Palacio deFestivales, Tonhalle Düsseldorf, Shenzhen Concert Hall, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Theater Chatelet and Royal Palace “El Pardo” in Madrid, where he was honored to play for Spanish Royal family.
He made a recording for the National Radio of Spain with works by Bach, Schubert, Schnittke and Saint
Saens, as well as for the Radio SWR Classic, performing violin sonata by Ukrainian composer Viktor Kosenko.
Andrii Murza has performed with such orchestras as MDR Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra, Birmingham Symphony Ochestra, Philharmonie Baden-Baden, Orquesta de Córdoba, Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, Odesa Philharmonic Orchestra, Kaunas Symphony Orchestra, National Orchestra of Moldova, Radio Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine. He collaborated with many well-known conductors, among them Oksana Lyniv, Aziz Shokhakimov, Pawel Przytocki,Peter Csaba.
Andrii was born in Odesa (Ukraine) in a family of musicians. He began his education at the famous Stolyarsky School at the age of 6 with Anna Lapteva and later at the Odesa National Music Academy named after A.V. Nezhdanova by professor Mikhail Turchinsky. After his graduation he continued his education in Europe with the world-famous professor Marco Rizzi at the Queen Sofía College of Music in Madrid, as well as postgraduate studies at the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts. A huge influence on his professional development was provided by lessons with outstanding musicians, including Pinchas Zukerman, Gerard Poulet, Zakhar Bron, Viviane Hagner, Miriam Fried.
He won numerous prizes at international violin competitions and awarded with the various prizes and grants of cultural funds, among them Isaac Albeniz Foundation, Sinfonima Foundation, German National Cultural Foundation, Ottile Zelbach Foundation.
Andrii appointed as a member of String Department at the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts and at the Odesa National Music Academy. He is a founder and artistic director of the Odesa International Violin Competition (member of the WFIMC).
Andrii Murza plays a violin made by Auguste Sebastien Philippe Bernardel (Père) in 1840.
