Andrii Murza, Violin
Artistic director of Odessa International Violin Competition, member of Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra (Germany), concertmaster of Tekfen Philharmonic Orchestra (Istanbul, Turkey). Since 2019 Andrii Murza teaches at the String Department of the National A.V.Nezhdanova Music Academy (Odessa, Ukraine). He takes part in the jury of international competitions and gives master classes in the cities of Ukraine, China and Germany.
Andrii Murza is the winner of several international competitions, including international violin competition named after Julio Cardona in Portugal, Eugen Coca in Moldova and “Art of the XXI Century” in Ukraine. He took part in international festivals in Heidelberg (Germany), Santander (Spain), “Two days and two nights of new music”, “Golden Violins of Odessa” and “LvivMozArt” (Ukraine). He performs concerts in the cities of Switzerland, France, Germany, Ukraine, Italy and Spain, where he made his debut at the National Radio of Spain, in which he performed works by Bach, Schubert, Schnittke and Saint-Saens.
Andrii was born in Odessa in a family of musicians. He began his education at the Stolyarsky School in the class of Dozent Anna Lapteva, then at the Odessa National Music Academy named after A.V. Nezhdanova in the class of Professor Mikhail Turchinsky. Soon he continued his education with the world-famous Professor Marco Rizzi at the Queen Sofía College of Music in Madrid (Spain), as well as in solo postgraduate studies at the Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts (Germany). A huge influence on his professional development was provided by classes with outstanding musicians of the present, including Pinchas Zukerman, Gerard Poulet, Zakhar Bron, Viviane Hagner, Miriam Fried and Ferenc Rados.
During his life in Europe Andrii has repeatedly won various awards and grants of cultural funds, including Isaac Albeniz Foundation (Madrid), German National Cultural Foundation (Berlin), Ottile Zelbach Foundation (Berlin) and Vladimir Spivakov International Foundation (Moscow). And in 2013 he made a concert tour of the cities of Spain, whereupon he was honored to play for the Spanish royal family, where he was awarded the Queen of Spain with a distinctive diploma.
Andrii Murza has collaborated with such orchestras as National Orchestra of Opera and Ballet of Moldova, National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, State Symphony Orchestra of Radio and Television of Ukraine, Odessa National Symphony Orchestra, Odessa Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, Odessa National Orchestra of Opera and Ballet, and collaborated with many well-known conductors, among them Aziz Shokhakimov, Pawel Przytocki, Igor Shavruk, Vladimir Sirenko, Jesus Lopez Cobos, Jaime Martin and others.
In 2015 he won the competition of Sinfonima Foundation in Germany, which provided him for personal use the violin by Nicolo Amati.
