Farruquito
Heir to a unique school founded by his grandfather Farruco, he has spent his entire life immersed in the purest flamenco art. He made his debut on the international scene at the age of 4 on Broadway with the show Flamenco Puro, sharing the bill with the most legendary figures of flamenco, including his family.
At the age of 8 he presented his first season at the Sala Zambra in Madrid. At 11, he appeared in the video clip Camarón Nuestro, and the following year in the film Flamenco by Carlos Saura, face to face with the patriarch of the saga, El Farruco. That same year, together with his family at Gloria’s weddings, he participated in the artistic and choreographic conception of the show.
In 1992 he participated in the Opening Ceremony of the Paralympic Games in Barcelona, and with his grandfather in the Andalusian Pavilion at the Universal Exhibition of Seville (1992) with the show Present, Past and Future.
WHen he was 15 years old, he created his first show, Raíces Flamencas, where a bailaor of a new dimension is distinguished that couples all his tradition to a prodigious personal artistic conception. Since its debut at the Royal Festival Hall in London, this sample of the purest and most racial flamenco has been presented with great success at the Teatro de la Villa y Conde Duque in Madrid, at the Poliorama Theater in Barcelona and on international tours in France and Japan. .
In 2001 he presented La Len Varo at the 1st United States Flamenco Festival. After his performances in New York and Boston, the New York Times called him “the best artist to walk on the Big Apple in 2001.” The following year Farruquito triumphs in his hometown, Seville, with a season at the Central Theater. The same year he performed at the Max Awards Gala.
In 2003, during the months of January and February, he achieved unprecedented success at the III edition of the United States Flamenco Festival together with his brother Farruco. Head of the show Por Derecho, he toured eleven American cities where critics surrendered to his art and personality. Likewise, his participation in the Madrid Flamenco Festival at the Albéniz Theater or the Jerez Festival at the Villamarta Theater was a resounding success for both critics and audiences.
In 2003, Farruquito did not go unnoticed by the photographer Richard Avedon, the designer Antonio Miró, the American magazine People who chose him as one of the most beautiful people in the world or the Academy of Music that awarded him for his lyrics Sweet cinnamon from the María de Niña Pastori album and by the sound of her feet on the Jeros tribute album. The bailaor has also been in charge of the academy located in Seville, which disseminates the precepts of the Farruco school.
During the month of November he premiered his latest show Alma Vieja with great success at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville. The success was repeated at the Albéniz Theater in Madrid, where for five days all the seats were sold out.
On July 24, 2008, he returned to the stage with the show Puro before 2,000 people in Palma de Mallorca. On July 16, 2016 he performed a recital in the Plaza de la Catedral de Almería with the guitar of Niño Josele and the voice of Arcángel and he presents his show Baile Moreno and toured Spain.
In 2017he premieres his show Farruquito at the Botanical Garden of Madrid and in 2018 tour the United States.
